What is provided
Mali's Play Therapy offers 50-minute, one-to-one, play therapy sessions on a weekly basis. These sessions may be shorter if the child is younger or has additional needs, where they may find a longer session to be challenging. We will also agree on a regular timeslot for these sessions to take place.
The play therapist will also meet with the parent(S)/carer(s) of the child regularly to discuss the child's process and any concerns they may have. This meeting will take place every 6/7 weeks. They might also meet with appropriate teaching staff and other professionals, when appropriate.
I usually suggest beginning with 12 sessions to give your child a steady start, but the number can be adjusted to what feels right for them.
Mali's Play Therapy provides a large variety of resources to support the child expressing their thoughts, wishes and feelings within their sessions. These may include art materials, sensory items, dolls, figures, small world miniatures, sand, puppets, Lego and role-play accessories.
When a joint decision has been made that the child is ready to end, the child will complete a final 4-7 sessions, before having a final review meeting with their parent(s)/carer(s).
Who Mali's Play Therapy can support
